FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) and Terms

What is “Scheduled Home Maintenance”?

Read the explanation here.

Do I need a “Comprehensive Home Assessment” and what is it?

Yes, The HMS Comprehensive Home Assessment is a very important and cost saving tool for your home technician to have. It not only provides him with the initial remedial list, but it also gives us much needed information that we keep in our secure database for maintaining your home, such as types, model numbers, etc. This information as well as reports, maintenance and repair log is then placed into your HMS Service Binder which becomes a valuable resource for the history and well being of your home.

Can I cancel my agreement?

Yes, you may cancel your agreement at any time, forfeiting only your previous visit’s payment and your one time setup fee.

What is a “re-assesment”?

This is the assessment performed each time we visit your home on a quarterly or monthly visit to inspect and determine any need for preventative maintenance and/or remedial work.

What is the difference between a quarterly & a monthly visit?

A Quarterly Visit is scheduled every three months for your technician to perform re-assessment & remedial work on your home. For larger homes (4000 sq. ft. or larger), monthly visits enable the tech more time to keep up with re-assessment & remedial work that would not be possible to complete on just a quarterly basis.

What is the difference between “remedial work” and a “remedial visit”?

Remedial means to supply a remedy. Our use of this term describes our intention of providing a remedy to the problems of home maintenance. The Remedial list is designed to manage your home maintenance and plan toward the smooth operation of your home. “Remedial work” can be performed, when time allows, during your regularly scheduled visits. A “remedial visit“ is a visit dedicated to remedial work only and does not take the placed of your scheduled visits. Remedial visits allow you to virtually customize your Scheduled Home Maintenance Plan to suit the needs of your home. All remedial visits are not part of the paid maintenance plans and are billed at our hourly rate plus materials.

What is a “preferred contractor”?

A Preferred Contractor is a contractor that has met our high standards for experience, quality, dependability, and customer service.
